World No Tobacco Day Observed at JBS Sikhyalaya, Bhubaneswar
On 31st May 2026, on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, an awareness and counselling programme was organized at JBS Sikhyalaya, Bhubaneswar, to educate students and teachers about the harmful effects of tobacco use, particularly among adolescents.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Dasarathi Das and Dr. Satya, who interacted with students and teachers and discussed the health risks associated with smoking and smokeless tobacco products.
The resource persons emphasized the importance of adopting a tobacco-free lifestyle and encouraged students to make informed and healthy choices. During the interactive session, students actively participated and shared their concerns regarding tobacco use among their peers.
The programme highlighted the vital role of school-based health education in preventing tobacco initiation among young people and promoting healthy behaviours from an early age.
The session concluded with a strong message encouraging students to become health advocates and contribute to creating a tobacco-free environment in their schools, families, and communities.
